These recycled PET sequin hand earrings are part of a bespoke limited edition series. They are made from the remaining leftover sequins I designed specifically for my honours collection, Anamnesis. My collection was inspired by my mother’s childhood and adolescent years, in the 1970s and 80s, exploring memory, kitsch and extravagance. To read more about my collection, please click here.
The sequins are made of 20% recycled PET, 80% PVC-free polyester. These earrings are constructed using Sterling Silver earring hooks.
Measurements: 15.2cm length, 9.2cm length
These earrings are designed and handmade in Australia with care and love.
Please note: due to the shiny nature of sequin film, the film changes constantly as a result of different lighting, making it difficult to photograph. Please be aware that the photographs represent the colour as closely as possible but may appear slightly different in real life.
Recycled PET Sequins
'These sequins are made from 20% recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) offering a more sustainable alternative to conventional sequins, which are made entirely from virgin plastics, often including PVC, which is harmful to human health during manufacture, use and disposal.
Benefits of using recycled plastic include: preservation of non-renewable fossil fuels, specifically oil; reduced energy requirements during manufacture and therefore reduced emissions; conservation of landfill space and/or reduction of toxic pollutants from incineration.' Manufacturing Information
Bespoke hand design laser cut on film by the Sustainable Sequin Company in the UK. Sequin film was produced in China using azo-free dyes.
Care
The Bespoke Recycled PET Hand Sequin Earrings are best cleaned with a dry cloth such as a microfibre cloth used to clean sunglasses. These sequins are not suitable for chemical cleaning, machine washing or steaming. These earrings are delicate and should be handled carefully.

Our Thank You Cards are made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper, are printed using vegetable-based dyes and are carbon-neutral. Supplier: Sustainable Printing Co.
Our Stickers are printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper using vegetable-based dyed. Supplier: Sustainable Printing Co.
Postal Packaging Information
All orders are shipped using home-compostable shipping mailers from HeroPack. They are made from 70-80% PBAT (a co-polymer that is completely compostable and 20-30% PLA (cornstarch). Supplier: HeroPack
Compostable and naturally adhesive tape is used. It is a vegan product made from PLA (polylactic acid) and natural rubber adhesive and meets the requirements for disintegration and ecotoxicity. Supplier: HeroPack
